Catcher in the Rye with Diamonds

Saturday, July 28th  |  1:00pm – 6:00pm

Revolution Gallery is holding the after party for the world premiere of “Catcher in the Rye with Diamonds”

“This is a free event…The story of the murder of John Lennon has been an untold story for many years. I remember the night he was murdered. I was in the parking lot of Stage One on a cold December night in 1980. While listening to a young band from Ireland through the wall, because I was too young to get in, the band was U2 on their first tour in the U.S. (they were in my neighborhood in Clarence N.Y). I hopped into the car when it was too cold and then I heard that ‘John Lennon has been shot’ on the radio. I was crushed by the news as I know so many were at the time. Now, 33 years later, Greg Sterlace approached me about making a film about the murderer Mark David Chapman (who is currently being held at Wende Correctional Facility in Alden NY) and his obsession with the novel “Catcher in the Rye” while plotting the murder of John Lennon. We spent 5 years filming in Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Amherst, Akron and New York City with so many talented people appearing in our film so we can bring this story of the madness of Mark David Chapman, and most importantly, the murder which shook the world of music and culture. The devastating destruction of one madman and a gun, which can cause such sadness. We have been reminded of this even today. This is why we made the film, so please try and get a chance to see it.”
