Revolution Gallery presents “Ghosts in the Machine” – A Group Exhibit featuring original paintings by Ally Burke, Nannette Cherry, Sean Madden, and Pooch

ALLY BURKE — Ally Burke is an artist residing on the Virginia-Tennessee border. Working primarily with acrylic paint and ink, exploring her own fears through art as a way of overcoming them, saying sometimes…“I just want to draw monster girls.” Burke says Halloween, the occult, science fiction, and body horror are themes that are often present in her artwork.

NANNETTE CHERRY — Born in Central Florida, and now living in the Pacific Northwest, Nannette has spent most of her life living on the east and west coasts.  With an interest in Surrealism and Pop-Surrealism, she re-envisions classical portraiture through a distorted lens, adding influences of psychedelic art.  Her work has been shown across the country and more recently outside of the country.

SEAN MADDEN — Controversial artist Sean Madden’s artwork has been exhibited and published worldwide.  He is influenced by psychedelic-era artists  Robert Crumb, Robert Williams and S. Clay Wilson– all of whom were the original artists responsible for ZAP Comics.  Sean has developed an understanding of the therapeutic qualities, and the political power of art.  A very busy artist and jazz guitarist, Madden’s artwork has been exhibited and published worldwide.

POOCH — Raised on a diet of Ray Harryhausen films, H. P. Lovecraft novels, comics, Walt Disney World, and other Florida tourist traps, Pooch paints images that seem to exist in a bizarre afterlife. His art is a visual cocktail of these influences—with a shot of lowbrow culture—shaken and stirred, then served up in a souvenir tiki skull on the Day of the Dead. A self-taught artist, he owes much of his painting skills to over ten years of daily tattooing and drawing.
