Joe Vollan has a distinct and eerie style he calls doom folk art.  His works describe tales of heartache and adventure.  This majority of his artwork is inspired by the tales of heartache and adventure of the inhabitants of the City of Rusted Gallows; a post apocalyptic, rundown factory town populated by secret skeleton societies and strange but friendly creatures. They exist there despite their predicament; content and hopeful in this dilapidated world.

Joe Vollan uses his refined artistic skills to develop eccentric pop surrealist images, which reveal harrowing and mysterious tales. The heart of his work evokes emotion through senses of wonderment as it pertains to the fantastic and bizarre world he creates.

Joe has been exhibiting at Revolution Gallery just a few months after we opened. See his work in the following exhibits here: Flash Krampus show 2020Grim AllegoriesDrawn OutApart TogetherMini Masterpieces 2020Something Wicked 2019, Sonic Splendor, Drawn Together, We are the Resistance, Love Sick, Between the Gates, and his solo shows On Behalf of the Under Enthusiastic and Doom Folktales.
