An exhibit of lovely and strange beings, navigating their way through ancient and modern environments, and unsettling situations.

With DJ Cainite spinning ethereal / neoclassic / triphop during the opening reception.

About the artists – 

Christy Francis is multidisciplinary teaching artist, painter, and photographer. In 2025, Christy founded  Howling Woman Studio in the arts and crafts hub of East Aurora, NY. As a pop surrealist artist, Christy explores themes of womanhood and girlhood, in all its dimensions. Her pieces center on female figures, symbols, and vibrant whimsical landscapes that tell stories of the depths of the inner world. Christy is an artist at the Hunt Gallery Residencies, has collectors in WNY and beyond, and has exhibited locally, nationally, and an anticipated show in Portugal. She has participated at several group shows here at Revolution, and we are excited to exhibit a collection of her new work for this solo show!

Nugmoose is a freelance illustrator and street artist who recently made the move from the UK (Bristol) to Buffalo, NY. Nugmoose is a pop surrealist artist who combines themes of sci-fi, mythology, and human life into dynamic poster style pieces. These are punctuated with what the artist calls “alien hieroglyphics” – custom created letterforms and typographic systems that feel familiar, yet remain unreadable; as if they originate from off-world cultures.

Nugmoose’s influences draw from 1960s psychedelic poster design and the ornamental qualities of Art Nouveau, particularly its use of curvature, rhythm, and decorative framing.

Revolution welcomes Nugmoose to our gallery, and are thrilled to have their artwork in this mini solo show!
