Revolution Gallery and Lounge is hiring! There are four positions available – bartenders (2), barback (1), and security / door person (1).

BARTENDER

Job Summary
Revolution Gallery and Lounge is hiring EXPERIENCED bartenders – potential employees should be enthusiastic, creative, work well with others, and excited to be surrounded by dark, pop-surrealist artwork. This position will eventually lead to individual becoming a “key holder” which comes with an increase in hourly pay.

The ideal person will have a passion for mixology and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for crafting beverages, managing bar operations, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The bartender will be responsible for setting up for service, serving customers beer, wine, and making cocktails behind the bar, creating new drinks, and setting up the lounge / gallery space before events., along with proficiency in various Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Have one year of bartending experience
  • Be able to assist and / or supervise in setting up for events (PA equipment, tables, chairs, etc.)
  • Work well with the public, with others, and take direction well.
  • Efficient in breaking down gallery / lounge after event, to prep it for service the following day
  • Motivated, outgoing, and confident at multi-tasking
  • Work events on Friday and Saturday nights, and an occasional week night event
  • Manage cash handling and processing transactions efficiently using a POS (Square)
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.
  • Uphold high standards of hospitality while creating a vibrant atmosphere within the bar and gallery setting.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Requirements

  • Previous bartending experience (at least one year) in a restaurant, nightclub, or catering environment.
  • Familiarity with POS or other similar systems is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele.
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and sales transactions.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required by the business needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for this role.

BARBACK

Job Summary
Revolution Gallery and Lounge is hiring barbacks – potential employees should be enthusiastic, creative, work well with others, and excited to be surrounded by dark, pop-surrealist artwork.

The barback will assist the bartender before service in setting up the bar (garnishes, mixers, and glasses), stocking the cooler, collecting glassware and empties during events, overseeing front of the house, supporting the bartender behind the bar during service, and setting up the lounge / gallery space before events. 

This individual must:

  • Be able to assist and / or supervise in setting up for events (PA equipment, tables, chairs, etc.)
  • Work well with the public, with others, and take direction well
  • Efficient in breaking down gallery / lounge after event, to prep it for service the following day
  • Motivated, outgoing, and confident at multi-tasking
  • Work events on Friday and Saturday nights, and an occasional week night event
  • Bar service experience preferable, but will train
  • Must be 21+

PART TIME SECURITY / DOOR PERSON

Revolution Gallery and The Lounge at Revolution Gallery is a pop-surrealist gallery with a full-service bar inside our space, and are looking for an individual who will protect people, artwork, and property before, during, and after events.

THIS INDIVIDUAL MUST…

  • Check valid photo IDs to ensure that all patrons are of legal drinking age
  • Monitor assigned areas, and act upon suspicious activity
  • Use proper judgment and, when necessary, escorts and rejects patrons who are intoxicated, disruptive, or not following venue requirements
  • Contact law enforcement or fire department in case of direct emergency
  • After business hours assist with venue closing operations to ensure the gallery is secure
  • Using reasonable action, detain persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives
  • Escort discharged patrons, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties from the venue and off the property
  • Performs further related and misc. duties
  • Be available on the weekends, and select evenings during the week
  • Have reliable means of transportation

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Attention to detail
  • Keen observational abilities
  • Authoritative verbal communication skills
  • Remains calm in high-pressure situation

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Required – the 8-hour pre-assignment Security Certificate or Valid NYS Security Guard License, or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous experience
  • College educated (minimum degree – Associates)

To maintain compliancy with NYSLA this candidate will need to be 21+ years old due to the bar Revolution Gallery has on premise.
