8 days till Halloween!

We are going retro on this; like 1970s retro. There was a legendary house in our neighborhood where the family would give out unique little gifts to the kids every year for Halloween – one year (mid 1980s) they gave out a full size candy bar and a mood ring. It was weird, it was wonderful.

A mood ring is a finger ring that contains a therm-chromic a element, or “mood stone” that changes colors based upon the temperature of the finger of the wearer. Finger temperature is partially determined by peripheral blood flow, which is modulated by the automatic nervous system. (thank you, Wikipedia!)
