by artist Joe Völlan  |  Curated by Revolution Gallery

See info below on how you may contribute to the latest mural on Hertel Avenue!

Revolution Gallery is pleased to announce our latest project –  The Queen City Procession! We have curated a new mural (on the back of our gallery building at 1419 Hertel Avenue) with nationally exhibited pop-surrealist artist Joe Völlan. We are honored to be adding to the growing number of rich, diverse, and exciting outdoor art in our North Park and Hertel neighborhoods – and to the Queen City of Buffalo, NY. With the assistance of the North Buffalo Organization, our community can become a part of this exciting project!

Artist Joe Völlan has a distinct and eerie style – His works describe tales of heartache and adventure. The characters in his works demonstrate that there can be contentment and hope.

The artwork for the mural depicts a fairytale parade of creatures, some who make recurring appearances in Joe’s unique compositions (cats, foxes, crows), and some strikingly recognizable to our community (An ever-watching Buffalo, and Shark Girl). Joe has exhibited his unique and highly detailed artwork in group and solo shows at Revolution Gallery (1419 Hertel Avenue), and in many galleries around the country. He has painted murals in his hometown of Seattle, WA., and now, residing with his two sons in Buffalo, NY, Joe is excited to create this piece – which faces North Park Avenue – as his first ever mural on the East Coast.

Revolution Gallery is inviting the public to become part of this thrilling project! ALL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE APPRECIATED AND ACCEPTED. For a contribution minimum of $50., contributors will receive promotional recognition on social media and printed materials. A contribution of $100. receives all at the $50. level, as well as a sponsorship bio on the Mural Project page on the Revolution Gallery website. Contributions of $250. or higher will receive all of the above, their name on the Contributors’ Plaque on the mural wall, and a LIMITED EDITION GICLEÉ PRINT of the completed mural on the wall, SIGNED and NUMBERED by mural artist Joe Völlan (available at completion of the mural). Important to note, there are only 50 of these limited edition prints available.
